^ “The Music Within”
This is a highly overlooked film about aman who defeats his own handicaps to make his mark on history. It’s worthwatching, so I won’t spoil it for anyone, but I will mention a quote thatreally stuck with me, about anger. At one point the main character says herealizes that he switched from passion to anger as a motivator, and how thatswitch poisoned him.
It’s an idea that resonates with me. I havemused many times on Vox about how I use my “saws all” tool of choice – anger –to wage war, to change, to motivate. I’m not sure if that’s a function ofsomeone who has danced too often with a low-level depression, or if it’s merelya lazy psyche on my part.
All I know is that my passion quickly fansto anger, and I can’t explain why. Perhaps passion for me is frequently tied upin frustration, and the frustration breeds anger. That is my theory for now. Overtime I will test it.
