Seriously ... A Wall of Glass

What is on your Must Do Before I Die List? Some things one just knows must be done before death. Like the silly movie "The Bucket List," there are things that I know I will regret if death comes for me, and I haven't done them.

I am ashamed to say that not that much leaps immediately to my mind, and I find it's hard for me to really nail down more than a few specifics. Is that indicative of a life well-lived? Or merely that I'm wildly distant and out of touch with my dreams? I fear it is the latter.

Here's my first attempt to document a few of the things that I really think I'd be sad not to achieve, in stream of consciousness order, and I candidly admit that I labored to compile this random, at-times-vapid list:

  1. Spend a month in an ashram.
  2. Write a published novel (preferably well-received, well-read, and wildly popular).
  3. Buy a wild mustang at BLM auction and have it broken gently for riding.
  4. Speak at least three languages fluently.
  5. Research my paternal and maternal family trees.
  6. Learn to (really) meditate.
  7. Live in a geodesic dome, preferably off the grid.
  8. Get a second tattoo, this time on my right forearm.
  9. Maintain a happy and stable marriage to my best friend.
  10. Knit something more than scarves.
  11. Make my own goat cheese.
  12. Foster a throwaway child.
  13. Make love against a wall of glass, like floor-to-ceiling windows in a hotel.
  14. Become certified in krav maga.
  15. PLAY THE PIANO
