The Prolific Ones

I am reminded for just a moment of the song “The Beautiful Ones” by Prince … “The beautiful ones / Always smash the picture / Always, every time.” This is not about Prince or a song, though; this isSorting buttons about individuals who manage to create every single day of their lives, and more specifically write every day. I journal every day, but that is a lazy kind of writing, more about sorting of emotional buttons and less about the creative process of writing well and with a destination in mind.

I have gone through spates of the “Blog More” urge. There are, after all, plenty of people out there managing to make the time and leveraging the energy to do so, but as of yet that has not been me. I have multiple excuses, not the least of which is “I do not have something of note to say.” But I frequently do have something of note to share, and I aspire to do that more here than elsewhere on the interwebs. Perhaps the act of sharing will become simpler and organically lead to something more: writing my commentary on my shares, excerpts from that daily journaling, and onward/upward from there. There is a class of writer that is prolific, and I want to be in that class.

Amusingly, the word “prolific” seems to coexist most often with writing. Or serial killers. Or zucchini plants. (Google it sometime.) And “prolific” is about more than just one kind of writing, too, presumably. However, I will begin small and grow larger (or that is the proverbial plan).

And now, because it's stuck in my head, I'm going to stick it in yours, too. You're welcome.
