Limits of Solitude

After ruminating once again on the dark joy that is everything Rust Cohle said in "True Detective" (Season One, which is the only season in my opinion), I stumbled across Thomas Ligotti, who wrote "The Conspiracy Against the Human Race." One quote from Ligotti rang especially pure and high painful for me, and now I will have to read more:

"If truth is what you seek, then the examined life will only take you on a long ride to the limits of solitude and leave you by the side of the road with your truth and nothing else."
